A COMPLETE SYSTEM MEANS OPTIONS

Right now you must drive to run your daily errands, go to work, take the kids to school. Why have we limited our options so much? We do have a bus system that provides basic service but even those options are limited. By completing our transportation system to encourage multiple modes of movement we gain the freedom to choose what transport to take for individual errands or our total lifestyles.

(WALK)

Why is the most basic form of human movement the most overlooked?

Just think about it for a second; in most of the county pedestrians come second to the automobile. Pedestrians on many roads are perceived to be second class citizens. Think about the last time you walked on 66th St, US-19, East Bay Dr., or McMullen Booth Rd. For most of us these roads are too hostile that we have never walked there.

By incorportating more walking into our daily lives we can expect economic, health and social benefits.

(BIKE)

The only truly human transportation on wheels, the bicycle.

The freedom of a bike ride is a joy we all knew as children. Making yourself move by bike is unlike driving in every way. On a bike you can notice the daily subtleties around you, the things you zoom past by car.

Let's rexamine the bicycle and use it not only for recreation but for our daily lives by making it safe and accessible.

(BUS)

The bus is the most crucial component of the motorized alternative parade. Buses currently are the only piece of motorized alternatives we know, and in the future will remain vital to transportation success.

Let's rethink the way buses work by providing more frequent more reliable service. Let's make bus transport more comfortable with more accessible complete bus stops.

The plans call for new types of buses as well providing a full spectrum of bus alternatives.

(LIGHT RAIL)

A new alternative that can be the backbone of our alternative choices. Light rail is flexible enough to run on train only tracks, in same lanes as traffic or among pedestrians in plazas with ease.

Light rail will function at a higher average speed, and comfort level than any alternative we currently know.

(CAR)

The car will not be neglected as any possible transportation tax funding would also be flexible enough to finance road projects. Most significantly a tax could finance streetlights, traffic signals, pedestrian crosswalks and complete streets.
